18th April 2003 Windsurfing: borth estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 13 -18 knots Surf / Sea State: wind chop Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Arrived at about 8.30 am for my long weekend at Borth There was only one person out on the water and they had an ice hockey helmet on so I assumed it must be Al! and there was a blue toy box parked on the beac. Said hello's and got rigged up with 112lt techno 263 and 5.8 sail and hit the water. Was a bit marginal on the windside but got some nice runs in This was only the second proper time on a smallish board (normaly sail 150lt board) Started going for a few gybes and was amazed how easy it turned so amazed I fell off the first attempt I managed to stay dry on the next few gybes so I was well Happy. Then I got really really happy! managed a couple of tacks but they didn't look pretty and I was nearly upto my waist in water four and ahalf stars for pulling off the gybes and tacks |
